Default another loud soundstage thread

well im lookin to upgrade my soundstage and i really wanna get it loud.my last setup was a set of image dynamics ctx65cs and i love them and will probably run them again for my door speakers. but in my dash i have 4x6's im thinking about doing a set of 4" components.i was lookin at the image dynamics ctx46. i know theyll sound good but i want something thats gonna be superloud and maintain "decent" sq. my buddy used to have some oz matrix elites in his s10 6 1/2's in the door and a 4" component set in the dash and it would make your eyes water and it was crystal clear.but they are rated at 250rms a set and i cant find anything close to that. i was lookin at some cdt sets as they have pretty high rms rating.id like to do some pro audio but i have no clue how to run active and dont wanna waste money on an experiment when i can order the image dynamics and be happy.im really just lookin for a loud 4" component set or loud 4x6's i heard about people fittin 5 1/4's in the dash but i dont wanna modify anything at the moment

got with ID's HLCD they fit under most dashes and are super load and effecient! I run a pair of ultra's along with a pair of dB drive psc 6. People think I have outside PA system horns in my grill when I come thru. The combo is loud crisp and clear! The ID 6' may keep up with the Ultra's you can contact ID for horn body's and go to parts express to by the equivelent comp drivers.

Another option aside from horns, would be an a-pillar install. With your mid and tweet close to on axis, it will increase the feeling of spl compared to similar components in the door or dash. You don't have as much reflection off the windshield to try and tame, like dash mount.

Horns are nice, but can be a mother to tune and they have their own sound. I'd love to try them some day but there is a fair amount of fabrication and tuning to get them solid. Not that there wouldn't be with an a pillar install. Lol

Guess it boils down to what your comfortable with. I had my mids in the kicks, and they image beautifully, but my body and center console eats up a lot of output.

This time around it'll be a-pillar With nothing between me and the sound.

My horns are in a 95 Acura integra. My imaging and soundstage is just below my top dash line. I want to move the horns to inside the dash facing the window like the Pro's. I had no real adjustments to make but leveling with the mids and they blend perfectly. I use a alpine PDX 4.150 for the front sound stage... I believe they are the best digital amps out for highs.

On another I got pulled over last night for noise ordinance... " could be heard coming and from over 300 feet clearly. Nobody in a residential area wants to hear that!" The Po Po. Got of with a warning.. Hey Got that new Lil Wayne!!! What more can I say??
