Default False Floor Material

Just wondering what you guys thought would be the best false floor material. I need to replace the stock carpet/flooring in the trunk and need to get started on it before I can put my box in. I still need to be able to access the spare tire that is in the trunk too since my car is a daily driver.

I would like to flush mount my amp into the floor, box, side panel if one is made. Any help is appreciated.

I use a combination of materials. {plywood, straight regular wood}

I avoid MDF on floors though because MDF absorbs moisture. (more than other materials do)

And thats what I thought about using MDF too. Just trying to think of the easiest, cost friend method.

I think my best bet is to go with 1/4" ply and then cover it with carpet to match.

Mine is 3/4 MDF, with 2x4s and 1x6s supporting it. Bolted to the cap FTMFW

I have tested that amp about a bazillion times. I know what it does clean, clipped, dirty, loaded, unloaded, wired down, low voltage, good voltage, after it hot, while it's cool, on caps, on batts, where it protects, what's thermal limits are and just about anything else anyone would care to know about it.

But thanks for chiming in. Your opinion is duly noted.

as a floor you can use 1/4" of any type of wood. birch ply would be the lighter than mdf and anything you place in there just make sure to place a coat of fiberglass resin on before carpeting and never have a problem with moisture swollen material.
