I have the Sony DA7100ES and love it. Great power and lots of control. 7.1 sounds AWESOME on my Polk Audio speakers!

Would it be better to build your own? I always thought that building your own boxes and stuff would be cheaper. Like using car speakers and computer subs.

You want him to make his own 7.1 high quality receiver?

No buy the receiver just buy the speakers and subs separate and make your own boxes.

You may be right depending on your building skills. But actually this thread is about quality receivers. Any suggestions?

i have a yamaha reciver i really like. the model number slips my mind ATM. it only does 5.1, but it's a freakin power house. 100w rms per channel with A / B channels. if you are really interested in what it is, i'll look when i get home tonight and let you know.
