Default 15" Sub with 2 15" PR's Build.

This is my new build named "Hostile Takeover". it contains one 15" Subwoofer using a RE SE Motor and two 15" Passive Radiators tuned to 18.5 hz. This thing is going to be a monster. will be filling a 17' x 17' room with earth shaking bass LOL. this is the design and will have pictures of the build starting Monday.

Look at putting some spikes on it because it will rock back and forth on carpet.

There's a guy on AVS that build one similar, except it used dual, opposed drivers and quad, opposed PR's. Opposed drivers and PR's cancel forces and keeps the enclosure steady as a rock.

I will be adding 1/4" Steel plates to the bottom of the cabinet with Spikes. So it will get rid of any rocking it may have. and will be adding a couple 2" x 4" solid bar stock to the bottom as well. so It will be around 100 pounds of weight at the bottom to ensure its stability. This box if very big and very excited to hear it's performance. I can tweak the Tuning by adding or taking away weights on the PR's. But as of design it is tuned at 18.5 Hz.

Thank you. this will be used in my bed room... ROFL. My room is a upstairs loft. 17' x 17'. Its pretty much my Man cave. 50" plasma, Harmon Kardon 7.1, Stainless steel table to build speakers on and a bed in the corner.

Your really supposed to face the PR's opposing each other so they cancel each other out. I have it hooked up now. Haven't turned it up real loud yet but have no Rocking issues. It has a pretty big base at 19" x 23" so I don't think it will be an issue. I think it would rock more having the sub on one side then the Pr's on the other. They go in the opposite direction of the sub so would rattle more. My box the Pr's are going out while the sub is going in so it helps a little. You really should have a PR' on a left/right walls and the sub in the front but I wanted a tower. I don't have it very loud and it's already vibrating my windows at certain frequencies. It sounds good from what I have heard. I will be testing it more tomorrow. and see what type of rocking issues I will have if any.
added the weights.

and put it all together I'll post pics tomorrow in its place.

Going to modify the Amplifier. The High pass filter stock is set at 30hz. Going to replace the stock resistors and replace them with different ones. The purple line indicates what I am running now as is. Modifying the High pass filter to 18.7hz with 1 db of boost. The yellow show's the difference with the mod. It will give me a 6.5 DB increase from 17hz to a 4 DB increase at 30hz.
