Default AD244 145A In 2001 Cavalier 2200

Here's the stock one, the belt ten. was stretched past the max because I have a slightly bigger idler pulley from the ebay special that was in it in the past.

Here it is side by side, its oreillys brand out of a 05 Buick Rainier with 5.3L, I got the new one because the reman was $139 +25 core, and the new was $159 + 5 core so with no core it was a easy choice.
I put the pully from the ebay rewound on because the car idles low.

Here it is, idle volts are way better now, im going to grind down the rear support to made it fit but for now i just made a little heat sheild out of roof flashing.

I did the same thing on my 2000 Sunfire. I bought a reman 145a Chevy Truck one off eBay for $80 shipped.

It went on easier then i expected, It was a lot more work trying to get from a group 25/75 battery to a grp 78 because I couldn't find a AGM that size locally besides Optimas. It's working great so far, idle voltage is way better for sure.

Ok so just to kinda follow up on this, it's still working good keeping my voltage at 13.5-14.5 depending on the weather, gas MPG has gone down about 3-4MPG but I'm happy with that trade off. I've upgraded my with from Install Bay's so called 0 CCA to 0AWG welding cable.

Only problem I had with mine is the belt jumping off. I had to extend the upper bracket to take some tension off the belt. Still kinda chews up the belt. Don't know why to be honest. I have a couple spares just in case.
