Default 230 DCV Car Audio Build

Hey Guys,

Some of you already know who I am, and for those who don't, here is a quick summary. Basically, I run Taramps, and I have been using Lithium batteries from the good people over at Juice Box Battery. I also use 6 15" SSA Evils subs in a 4thbp that's 50 cuft Gross. This 12DCV system topped off at 162db with poor electrical being at fault for not betting that score since achieving it.

Well for 2016, I am changing things up a bit, at least for what seems like the rest of the season. I have shipped my LiFePo4 battery back to JB for repair, and since have acquired 18 XS Power D3400s. I have also wired them in series to achieve 230 DCV Resting. The amplifier(s) that I will be using, (3) Taramps T60Ks. I also installed Dual Trans-coolers for my explorer (07).

that's a first, or one of the few firsts in this realm, very interested to see where this ends up. im going to assume you charge this externally and top it off between use? what all have you done to keep yourself safe? it'd be a great way to show people how dangerous high voltage like this can be and how to keep yourself safe

stay safe, all im gonna say lol

Yes, this bank of 18 will be charged externally. From the few that does run this type of system, claim I can go roughly 1 - 2 weeks without charging at regular listening volumes. To run this system safely, you have to install a total of 5 DCV High Voltage Breakers. The HV and 12V system does share the common ground of the vehicle.

Thanks for the idea, but I don't want to show people how dangerous it is because that would involve me failing, and I don't want to do that just yet LMAO.

Thanks brother, I appreciate the kind words!

For what ever reason, it's not listed on the "en" site of their webpage. LOL. But you can order them if desired, via me.

But yeah, bad luck again with SBN lol. I hope to debut at Gary's Wedding.

Do those amps have a power supply or just the output section? Either way you will have some beast rail voltage. Tuned in for clamped numbers.

What happened to the lithium that you needed to send back for repair? Also glad the explorer is back at it after the second trans problem.

More voltage equals less current, less current equals more efficiency

I feel like more people would do this if they were comfortable not competing in any classes. It's really a good way to go

I think the upfront cost scares people and lack of install knowledge here in the states deters people. Needing a minimum of 10+ batts right off the bat can be costly to some.
