So, the idea started a few years ago but i have been so immersed in car audio that i havent had any time to work on anything else. My car audio life started from that kid who wanted bass to an over the top competitor style system. I run with some of the loudest people in the states, doing 158db on muisc down to 12hz. Personally, i was only doing 153db on 2 18's on 5000 rms. However, if you want sound quality, i had absolutely none and to this day still dont. Soooo, Im looking to sell my truck and i've sold all my equipment. which made me a good bit of cash lol. My dream growing up and to this day has been the same, to make music.I am aware that the chnaces of becoming someone is quite slim so I took the humble route of abandoning it and just loving music for what it is. I have extensive knowledge in EDM. Extensive.... but i also listen to everything from disco to good ole jimmy buffet and always welcome some andrea bocelli. I owe all my love for music to my father who used to and still influences my taste and passion as he himself used to be a dj, something i didnt know until recently when i saw a pair of marantz viynl decks come out of the attic.
Anywho, thats some backstory. Now on to the build
So upon roaming parts express a few weeks ago i came upon a great deal that i jumped on and said hey, im gonna do this!
Mids and highs:
Two pairs per cabinet.
I know the receiver isnt 4 ohm capable however i feel if i monitor the temperature and dont over exagerate the use of the volume knob. the power supply would hold the low impedence just fine and heat buildup shouldnt become too big an issue, plus i can then go to an amplifier afterward.
Now where i need help is, i need to make the cabinets for the mids and highs. idk... what im doing in that aspect. How big should they be? should they be ported? polyfilled? what wood do i use for the cabinets as i want them to look nice and i want to stain them. How do i set up the receiver so that all my sound is coming from the front even if im using the other set of speakers on the rear channels? how do i arrange them in the cabinet?
