Default Couple of subs I started on today. [56k beware]

Welcome.

I have recently been bored with my current home theater sub section, it's not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but just not that good at the same time. I'm running 2 pro audio 1kw rack mount amps, tied to a single shocker 12 d4 (reconed) , dont get me wrong, id never part with the shocker as my mid bass, but iv been missing that sub 30hz rumble you only get with displacement.. thus the tc9 15 is born.

I'm an amateur sub builder, dont discriminate to much.

Built a 12" today also, needed a excuse to use up that last stroker spider Iv had sitting around.

Mixed pics from the day, some good some bad, cacti bloomed it's first shoot the other day, had to toss that in.

Yep, got the other planed as the twin to that 12", just got to get another 12" 12 spoke basket for it, and find the matching spider to this one over at my shop

The sub runs great, small motor but plenty of power with a really tight 4 layer flat wound, the gap was tighter then I like to run, but so far I can push it to the limit of the spider and not knock, so all in all, great sub for the money, I have about $65 in each one, 500wrms is no issue for these coils.

The 15's got a SPL coil in it, huge aluminum wire coil in dual .6, Handles more then 500wrms

Thanks, building subs is easy as 1-2-3 Shim-gap-glue

Don't overdo the activator, that way you dont have nasty white stuff... Notice in the pics of the 15", the wet glue is gloss black, the cured glue is grey/milky black but not white!

Cant decide on the 15's dustcap, I have that vintage HK series carbon cap, but I really want a pro audio look to this sub, so id like to find a nice vintage JBL cap, or some other vintage cap..
