My suggestion is to join up at a PC forum and look for the stuff there. All my spare PC parts are going to get used for building a media server or I'd be able to hook you up with some of what you're looking for.

I don't know about Dallas but up here I can go to a pawn shop and pick up a computer that works good for $100.. $200 with a 19" monitor.

If you are still interested in building a PC you can peruse [H] forums, anandtech forums and other large PC enthusiast site forums for parts.

Here's [H]'s FS/T forum. If you can't find the parts there they can't be found. Happily as the site is based in D/FW you could probably find them local to you as there are a good number of members from there.

I'm really just seeing if anyone on here has stuff laying around. It'll be a couple weeks before I'm doing the build so I'm giving people a chance to turn their misc. computer parts into stereo money.

My baby is too good for "good", lol. But seriously though, I want it to be something special, decently capable, and if she needs it, upgradeable.
