Default New guy, big plans.

Not much of a poster, prefer to lurk and research EVERYTHING. You will never see me posting dumb comments or threads.

As for car audio I have always had mediocre setups in my car. I finally decided to step it up a bit.

Current car and electronics
2005 Scion xB
full air ride suspension (dual 480c comps, 5 gallon tank etc..)
fully shaved (doors, gas door, front\rear bumper, hatch)
shag headliner
minor interior mods

current system I will be building, this list is what I already have
Kinetik hc2400
shuriken bt100
(2) SA Z v1's (one reconed w\ NS parts. gonna o the other as soon as I order the recone kit)
1"MDF\3.27cubic net\ 32hz tuned enclosure
50 ft 0gauge wire for everything
headunit is an older alpine ive had and loved for several years.

Still unsure as to what I want to run for an amp. thinking of an saz3500d
Trying to source a H.O alt, which is tough for my car.

It's late and I have to work in the morning so I'll be back sometime tomorrow!

Cheers,

Albert

I have tested that amp about a bazillion times. I know what it does clean, clipped, dirty, loaded, unloaded, wired down, low voltage, good voltage, after it hot, while it's cool, on caps, on batts, where it protects, what's thermal limits are and just about anything else anyone would care to know about it.

But thanks for chiming in. Your opinion is duly noted.

if you are going to go with a big amp like the 3500 you might need more batteries(maybe 1 more 2400) and make sure the 0 gauge is ofc not cca. when done it should be a nice system.

How about I make a video instead? The whole car is a giant work in progress. I decided to do the audio last minute and rip out the back seats.

I am trying to pick up two more batteries for the rear and another small one to replace the wet cell under the hood. Before I drop the cash on a 3500 I'm going to see what 2000rms sounds on them first and go from there.

http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/f...chman-alt.html

that alt will drop into your xb, i used to have an 05. you will need a longer belt i think 4" longer. however i dont remember the connecting pin, post a pic of the pin, but it should connect right in since i dont remember a harness.

there is a small sensor above the alt, it has two wires going into it, be careful with it since i cracked mine when swapping the alt.

220 shipped. you cant beat that.

Been meaning to update this, and possibly start a build thread... here are some pictures.

Since the last post I ordered an alt, and picked up a bunch of wire.

Ok, I guess I'll ask here. If I don't get a decent response I'll ask in the proper sub-forum.

The box is 3.27(net) I'm using two 6" precision aero ports (as seen in picture). According to the box tuning software I used my ports would be 16" long for a total of 28.26cubic inches. (tuned to 33.79, might drop that down to 31)

After everything i've read that doesn't seem like enough port area. Thoughts?
