Default Another Newb !!!

Sundown fanatic...
Just completed first full build in my 2002 GMC Sonoma Ext Cab
Sundown/DCpower/Pioneer/Kicker/Audiopipe Wires
Not new to audio but new to the big builds =)

Currently collecting system for 2013 build in my 2004 Yukon SLT!
Should be expensive, loud, and fun =)

How many subs do you have in the sonoma? I have an extend cab s10 Ill be running either 1 AQ hdc3 18 or 15. Not sure yet. Kind unsure due to box size. 15 is 4.5 and 18 is 6.5 cf.

My current setup:

DC Power 190Amp Alt
Big 3 Upgrade
Red top Optima under the hood
1 run of 4 ga hyper flex to back
goin to kinetic hc800
then 10in of 4 gauge hyper flex into ...

SAX-1200D at 1ohm
Two 12in SA-12 D4's
BIG ported box ... roughly 4.8 cubes at 32ish
Peaking around 37-38 though

didnt build for numbers ... went for flex and music

ended up with broken roof support bar and a headache haha

this system gets loud and moves air ... all at no less than 13.4 volts =)

amp never changes temp AT ALL ...
voltage stays above 13.4 even after running the highway all day ...

but i will admit that im hunting down some zv3 d1's at the moment to put on my saz-3500d in the same box ... gonna rewire with 1/0 to the back and a xs d3100 in place of the hc800 ... hope the dc 190 can run with the 3500d

so far the dc is overkill for the current battery setup ... by the way sax-1200d's are some little MONSTERS !!!

I have Aq's 1200d. Its roughly to and extent the same amp. Im really happy with it. So you think a 145a alt will suffice to give my amp enough juice? I have 1 run of 0 guage knukonceptz kollosus power wire and will be getting a second battery. How did you break a roof support? LOL

i think the 145 should do the trick ... dont hold it to me though haha
and just make sure you dont get too big of a batt in the back ... should only need a small hc600-800 or equivalent ...

as far as my roof support ... my box has sub and port facing up and its a common chamber and port for the pair ... very efficient build and efficient, loud bass = broken roof support from the flex =) not sayin im shattering windshields but obviously its enough to suck my roof in haha

oh and do the BIG 3 !!! man it made a hell of a difference on my setup !!!

before i was running the 4 gauge alone and the sax would get a little warm and subs werent exactly flexing like they are now ... after big 3 and kinetic in rear it was night and day difference !!!
