So I just recently got a e36 'vert and am working on getting everything together for an install. I had no idea BMW's were so hard to work with on the audio end. Nothing is normal sized and the 'vert is tight on space.
So far I have installed a Soundstream RUB 4.600 amp and that is all to get it going. I have picked up a 10" Polk dual voice coil sub and need to come up with a box design for it. I read on bimmerforums.com how a guy put in 5 1/4 " speakers in the rear by removing the factory baffle and speakers. I am planning on doing the same and have acquired a pair of polk DXI 525's to that end. I am thing I will use component 5 1/4's in the front with the mid bass in the kick panels and the tweeters in the factory enclosure but am having a hard time figuring out what tweeters will fit in the factory enclosure. I am thinking of using a SONY MEX-BT 400P for a head unit and have found a good deal on one.
I guess that is the kinda short of it right now. Any suggestions are more than welcome.
