Default CACO freshman!!

I'm new to the forum and pretty new to car audio as well. Over the past couple years I've become addicted to car audio and I've discovered the only rehab is, well, better gear, better sound. Im a 20 year old college student from Grayson, GA; roughly 15 miles from Atlanta. I have a 99 grand prix gt with a few goodies. Will be posting a detailed thread with pics tomorrow of the ride. Hoping this site helps me get the gear/knowledge im looking for. Glad to be with yall!

Welcome also. How do you like the gt? I was looking at one for a while then decided against it.

I love my GT. Especially the motor, the 3800 series II is indestructible. Not to mention alt braces directly on top. Makes wiring a breeze. Only issue is the suspension. My box, batteries, amps, etc weigh the trunk down and the rear barely clears the tires. The strut upgrade didn't help, and balancing the front end to sit even with the rear is tricky due to limited selection of springs. But overall, the only issue after 150,000 miles is a new trans. Great car.

I've heard that the tranny goes out in the gt rather quick. A lot of people beat the piss out of em with the 3.8 in em.

Yeah the trans has a bad rep, for good reason. Riddle me this though...I installed a mechman 270 alt last saturday, immediately the a/c blower quit working. Compressor turns on but no ventalation. 4 runs of 1/0 OFC front to back and 2 XS batts in the rear, grounds at the block and frame. Everything else works great, voltage sits around 14.5 now, just the way it should. Any advice?

id start by checking the fan motor, see if your getting 12v there,

troubleshooting 101,
then go upstream little by little....

check the switch, fan relay an so on

more than likely something got knocked loose, or something simple like that
