I have ran across this site before, just never really looked around. Been into car audio since I got my license in 2001. I had my first system about 6 months after I started driving. Mom and Dad had gotten me a JCV HU, Clarion 4" front speakers, 2 JBL L&C 10"s, and a Pioneer 200w 2ch amp. Since then ive not changed my setup too many times. In 2003 I bought a JBL WGTi15 and a JBL Power 1200.1 amp. (I just knew I liked JBL at the time, Dads home audio ran through JBL, friends dad Did sound for concerts and said JBL was good). In 2004 I bought my friends JL 1000/1 and W7 for a total of $900 then picked up an Alpine CDA-9835. After moving that setup to a couple different cars it sat at my parents in my old bedroom, once the wife and I got our 02 Olds Bravada I had not thought about putting my setup in the Bravada, went to go visit my parents for my birthday to find out somebody had stolen the 9835 and the 1000/1..... All I had left was the W7........ I almost said screw it and just sell the W7 and move on with my life without a setup. I am glad I didnt sell it... I probably would have nothing still in my Bravada, I ended up buying a used 9835 off ebay, and running the W7 off of the Pioneer 200w that was still out in mom and dads garage. lol I know I was probably only giving the W7 80watts. But to my suprise it was fairly loud in the bravada. My wife thought it was really loud, she made it sound like she had never heard a subwoofer before. My setup is not the greatest right now still. Funds are very small.
Right now the Alpine 9835 is in, got a set of Polk db 6.5 cheap they are in the front doors (going to end up being rear fill but not untill I settle on front speaker), once I get fronts I have a Hifonics 55.4 to power the doors, I picked up a cheap amp from ebay, Shark Motorcycle Audio 2500.d I have read online its the same internals as the Audio Pipe APSM-2000 so like I said not too great, but it cost me $103 shipped brand new. and then the 13.5 W7 in a JL spec box. Hope to build a new box soon. Once money comes in the sub and sub amp will be replaced. I guess that reminds me I still need to get ring terminals to finish hooking up my 1/0 so I can quit running off the rear fuseblock.... lol I am sorry this was so long winded. My name is Justin, It great to meet you all!!!
