Smile New member from the Caribbean

Hello everyone. My name is Steve and I'm from a small island group in the Caribbean called St. Vincent & the Grenadines. I've been into car audio and subsequently pro audio since the early 2000s. Gave up the pro audio around 2009. In late 2011 a close friend and I decided to form a car audio crew and we're a five-member strong team now.

Car audio is popular in my country but not on a level to compete internationally (IMO). I joined this site with the hope of purchasing equipment and learning more about car audio outside of my country, and so share info with my team members and other car audio lovers in my country.

When I searched online for certain products this website came up in a few of my searches, thus I decided to join

I look forward to a productive and educational experience here with you guys. The team's facebook page can be found at the following link https://www.facebook.com/teamkamichi

Welcome bro, there are a couple of us on here from Cayman also. It is a tough road living in small isolated communities and knowing you want the "good stuff". We have worked through some of those problems here, if we can be of any help let me know.

What level of systems are you guys running there?

Thanks fellow islander! Car audio here is a mixture of car and pro audio equipment. Most guys choose to run a pair or 6inch or 8inch pro audio mids with either dual 10's, 12's or 15's. There are a few guys with quadruple 10inch pro audio mids and more. Placing the mid and highs on the roof of the vehicle and "banging out" is pretty much the norm. Check out the photo albums on the facebook page link in my intro above for a better idea. Bless.

we have 2 schools here, 1 is the pa system on the roof... session style, and the other is SPL. there is no real sq or sql here yet. I personally am an sql guy. for daily driving 142-148db and clean clear mids/highs is where it is. We do have a couple guys building fairly big at the moment. one of them is 4 IA DP 21 on a Warhorse in a soccermom van.

Cool...sounds similar to here. Most guys are just focused on being loud (in the mid scetion) nowadays. One of the loudest vehicles we have uses two Orion HCCA15's powered by two 4000watt Mmats. He has about 4 10inch Beyma mids and 4 8's as well. The last time they measured it with an Epic-160 it metered between 147-149db i think. There's another guy with two FI Btl18's in a corolla wagon, but he stripped out his system for a while. To my knowledge the Epic-160 is the only SPL meter used here and very few ppl have one. I'm like you as an sql person. My Image Dynamics 8's metered 130db on the Epic-160 playing Late Nite Tip by Three 6 Mafia.
