I started a car stereo consulting company a couple of years ago and joined a bunch of forums to promote it, then school got busy and my day job got crazy, and the company (Ohmgrown Car Audio) fizzled out. Once I finish school (yeah, I'm in college for the 4th time...), I may bring it back. My focus is beginning DIYers, guys (and gals) who want significantly better sound than their stock stereo and don't want to waste their time and money at Best Buy or CarToys, but don't really know how to determine what gear is worth the asking price. I'd love to hone in on musicians in particular, but I really don't know how to get there.
I'm a big fan of Pioneer because their stuff is solid throughout the range, and they have truly entry-level stuff as well as truly high-end stuff (P99RS, anyone?). I'm also a Sundown Audio fanboy, because I just don't see any of the big names coming close to matching the performance for value coming from Jacob and co.
Is that introductory enough?
