Default Hello from beer town..

What's up everyone, my name is Mike, I'm 33 and not a total nood in the car audio world. I'm on my second system(1st upgrade) and looking to go bigger. A fella on car audio forum suggested I check this place out so here I am.

Current setup:
Jvc h.u.
Big 3 1/0 OFC wire
'250a' ebay alternator, which may not do the full 250, but it's done pretty good
single run of 1/0 knukoncepts kolossus wire
Soundstream t6000d.1(a 3k @ .5 ohm)
Soundstream tweeters on the a-pillars
Skar fsx6.5s in the doors
Audiopipe apsm4080(i think)-4Ch for mids/highs
2 PSI PLATFORM 2 18s in a custom slot ported box me and my dad made that's tuned to 30-31hz

My first system was very financially limited so I went with Audiopipe mainly cuz the model I used on my subs was dynoed an did well over rated but the 4 ch. Was in the range of my remaining funds and although only 80 watts @ 4 ohms per channel on a "1200"watt amp, they were at least honest unlike the other similarly priced brands like lanzar, crunch, planet audio, etc who just talk about "max" wattage or they were like a 1500 watt amp that did a whopping 35-50 per channel. Plus my 6.5"s are 50 rms so I figured that with the tweeters wired to them, the 80w would be sufficient.
I plan to add some pods with better mids, and probably a center console enclosure too so the amp will be upgraded to maybe an American Bass or something.

Ppi 900.4 is a solid choice. 150x4 and tiny. S800/4 is good too. The clip lights are nice.

Look into the soundstream sme.658's or 654's for some good budget pa mids. If you really want to go hard, prv 6mr500's are the best/loudest single 6.5 you can get if im not mistaken. They extend hella far too, 12 or 16k iirc. Almost dont need a tweeter with them.

The prv were on my list as well as crescendo, selenium, the new American Bass vfl line has a neo that inexpensive, also lanzar's opti drive line has a nice 6.5, and so does ds-18. So many choices, lol
