I'm just a guy seeking some guidance and knowledge. I'm no audiophile by any means, but hearing great songs played through crappy speakers bugs the hell out of me. I like my music loud and clear and I love the feeling of bass.
I've installed a system in my old Tacoma with a bunch of stuff I bought on Amazon. I had the component set of Focal PS165 in the front and two 10" shallow mount pioneer subs behind the back seats. Unfortunately, the Tacoma is no longer with me and I'm now whipping a new Honda Civic. The stock speakers are decent but I really miss my old system.
I'm looking to do an install on my Civic. I find the idea of an active setup very interesting and I would love to try it out in my new car. I've heard good things about the Crescendo PWX midrange and tweeters, but my main concerns are the install fabrication and the complications of a DSP and OEM integration unit. I've read on civic forums the HU heavily EQs the signal, but as of right now, There isn't another head unit i can replace it with and still maintain crucial features.
