I've been loosely interested in car audio since the late 90's. I say loosely because I always loved it but I never had the money or motivation to work and obtain components nor learn the ins and outs of installation etc.
For the last 4 years or so, I have been buying budget gear and doing installs that I am comfortable with (mainly just door speaker swaps). I start to grow sour with the gear after a while and I will make a slight improvement here and there. It's been fun and I have wasted more than a few dollars doing it.
Well, I won my Fantasy Football league this year and I decided to splurge on some nice equipment.
I am almost done gearing up, now.
I'm sticking with the cheap Pioneer double din for now but I have recently acquired the following:
-Focal 165 KR2 components
The plan is to only run a front stage and a single sub for (what I hope will be) a pretty decent SQ setup. I have yet to decide on what I will be running for a sub amp or if I will ditch the 4 channel in favor of a five.
I can't trust myself to install this gear so I will also be squirreling away some cash to get it all professionally installed, this spring.
I've been lurking here for a few weeks and have gotten some great ideas and learned quite a bit as well. I won't have a whole lot to contribute but I really appreciate the input from those that do. /insert cheers emoji here/
