Hello folks 👋🏼 I am looking into designing my own.. well with you guy’s help, our 4th order bandpass enclosure. I want to design it to optimized specs, and what I’m wanting as close as possible. I’m wanting a good mixture of wide range frequencies and SPL. Probably a touch more on the SPL peaky curve side.
I have 2 zv4 15’s and 1 Team Sundown 15 that I am currently running in separate ported enclosures. Amazingly with the different ohms and speakers the zv4’s are from the Team Sundown they are seeing 1ohm and sharing the power evenly as they should.
I’m liking my ported enclosures (30hz) and gets pretty windy, but some of the bandpass 4th ordered enclosures I’ve experienced just dominates and plays a wide range of frequencies like a boss. I love how up in the 40hzs it’s very peaky and choking you out, and the 20hzs are still crystal clear, can still hurt, and a blow threw.
I’ve built more then a dozen enclosures, but this would be my first 4th ordered bandpass. I tried a 6th Ordered bandpass a long time ago and that turned out a joke. I was going to separate the woofers in the sealed sections and introduce them together in the ported section, I believe it would be okay. Any help and time is greatly appreciated.
