Good morning all. I guess Iím the new old guy. Iíve been into car audio since the early 90ís. In high school wood shop I would build boxes for people and make some side money. That is when I learned the importance of proper box building techniques. Nothing fancy, but build it right. My first real system(once I graduated from pawn shop Pyramid) was a pair of original Kicker Competition 15Ē subs powered by an original Fosgate Punch 45.
I could probably write a 5 page essay of all of the systems I have had, but most of them has been low wattage. My current system is a budget SPL setup. It consists of the cheapest components(Cadence 6 1/2Ē up front), Cadence 3 way 6X9s in the back, a pair of 15Ē Earthquake Tremors in a custom rear facing sealed box in the trunk, Hifonics (Maxsonnics donít make them like Zed did) Brutus 2k amp on the subs set to 1300 watts, and a 4 channel Hifonics Brutus running the mids and highs. There are 2 Dekka 100 amp/hr AGM batteries under the box to help prevent having too much voltage drop. With the Big 3+ and 1/0 OFC running to the back the voltage is pretty steady. When itís cranked I see voltage drop from 14.2 down to 13.7, and that is with an adjustable external voltage regulator. All of this is in a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT.
Anyway, Iíve already said too much. Hi.
