All my car audio questions kept on pointing back to this wealth of knowledge forum. Had to join, must learn moar! I haven't done a diy install since I was in college on my now vintage Scion TC (still running!). I gutted the whole car and went dynamat crazy. When I knocked on the doors they sounded heavy and German luxury like
I have always been about SQ and consider myself a snob for all things audio. I'm about to embark in my own install focusing purely on SQ. I'm open to any suggestions regarding SQ recommendations but I've always leaned towards JL audio. Please correct me if I'm wrong!
So far my build list for a 2018 Macan w/ factory Bose system:
C7's for sub, mid, and tweeter for front stage
Rears I am keeping stock (do I need an upgrade here?)
Sub is going to be either a JL audio 8w7 or a 10w7 in a sealed box (one sub only)
Nat TV zen-v to keep factory controls from HU and digital signal
JL audio vx800i for active fronts and use a filter for the rears
Not sure what mono amp to get for the JL sub and if it can be DSP controlled from the vx800i. Can the vx800i control the separate mono amp powering the sub w/ the accessory knob? Can I adjust the sub level W/ the knob on the vx800i or do I need another sub knob off the mono amp I choose?
