Howdy. I bought a '05 Tundra DC XSP last year and it's so nice I figuired it (and I) deserved a respectable system for once. Of course I wouldn't consider paying someone to do it. Toughest part was sealing the miniscule cargo compartments/ building a baffle and surface to mount it to in order to seal for the 2 8" JL W3's without cutting the seatbottom. A pro would have done it more elegantly but, it looks good works excellent (I think).
Seeing as how I didn't know what crossover was, I had to read (search!) a lot. Along the way, as usual, I've started to become an enthusiast, requiring changes (improvements, of course). My hu looks so good, (avhp3100-dvd) kind of a factory, bulky yet, aftermarket looking design but lacks essential options; t/a, usb that can read .wav, 6-outputs, 24 bit d/a.
So, I wound up with a kw kac-x4r 4ch amp. It's a (cheap) Swiss Army amp allowing for active xover, t/a etc. Now I have two of these amps plus a JL 750/1 for subs. Planning to brigde these amps for my mids I find myself in a weird situation. Given the xover capabilities between my amps and hu, I'm having to separate each signal channel L + R, to each amp. A tweeter and a 7" on each amp with all L ch rca's to one amp and the R ch to the other. I have F + R and L + R fade/bal. Now, I have 4 gains, 5 ch param. eq for 4 ch's + 1 ea ch (L/R) for line out sub with t/a on ea ch all under the driver's and pass. seats. Zero to absolutely unnecessarily complicated in just three steps.
