Im an old school guy who has been considering buying newer amps/subs/etc. I collect alot of the older amps and i have yet to buy an amp thats newer than say 98ish. I still buy all the older subs/speakers/signal processors from then as well. I have bought a few newer cd players but im still partial to the older ones. To me car audio was at its best back in the early to late 90's. It was fun going into all the local shops that specifically dealt with car audio, going into the install bays and seeing what was being done. The one thing i miss most about it is "made in the usa". Something about that made me proud and it seemed to make the companies proud as well.
My favorite moment in car audio was when i saved almost $500 just to get my first real amp, a rockford fosgate punch 100dsm back in 93. A 50x2 amp that cost almost $500! Now you get them for under $200, haha. I hooked this up to two 15" crunch subs in my 84 camaro and i was hooked.
All in all this is what i know and this new way is just different to me, hence why im willing for some change. Whats everyone think of the new stuff, especially the old schoolers? Any info would be appreciated, thank you
