Question Alpine type R vs. Kicker cvr

How good is an alpine type r 12 compared to a kicker cvr 12? Trying to upgrade my system to something a little nicer. I'm using a PPI 2360 amp right now but am about to get a 1000 watt memphis amp.

The Alpine smokes the cvr. But whats your price range? I might be able to help you pick out a nice sub.

You may want to look into CVX's from Kicker instead of the CVRs. Don't know why but CVRs are the red-headed step child of Kicker's arsenal.

eh, ive had better experience with cvr's than the type-r's, the r's are nothing really special....but neither are the cvrs. I was able to a pretty decent setup with my cvr's you can check the vids out

Not necessarily lol And to OP if you can afford an AQ sdc2.5 I'd get that over a alpine type r or cvr any day. Audioque: Street Duty: SDC2.5
(They are on back order at the moment but just wait a few days and they should be back in stock )

I've had both the type-r and cvr.
For daily usage and using the sub with its rated power, the CVR wins hands down.

If you plan on overpowering your sub or using it for burping then the type-r is a better pick, it handles the abuse better.

I didn't like my type-rs at alll, they didn't hit the lows like the cvrs i had and had a "pedestrian" sound on rated power.
