New here but not to audio. I'm a compulsive system changer so I figured I'd join here to see whats offered up. I'm a member on several other audio sites both 12v and home audio.

The Ride:
2005 Dodge Ram 4x4 Quad
Pioneer P99RS (active)
Zuki 6 Channel
Various Sub Amps
Morel Dotech Ovation Midbass
H-Audio Trinity Midrange
Morel MT-23 Tweets
ED 11Kv.2 10"

The Home:
Conrad Johnson PV-12 Preamp
Conrad Johnson MV75-A1 Amp
Sony NS9100ES CD/DVD/SACD
Monarcy 18b DAC
VPI TNT mkIII Turntable
VPI SDS
Rogue Stealth Magnum Phono Preamp
Sansui TU-919 Tuner
Dynaudio Audience 72's

Needless to say I'm all about the music. My days of bump and thump are over and now I'm purely SQ. I leave the bass to my 3 sons although 1 is moving more towards SQ now. They get my hand downs when I have gear for sale that doesn't move fast enough. My door / garage is always open to anyone serious about home or car audio. I have more tools than a Home Depot and always happy to help a build.

So far I think its a great HU. I moved from a 880 to the P99 to simplify my liking for a 3-way system. With the 880 I was tied down to using external processing to achieve a 3-way set-up. I like simplicity and using an external processor is just adding another variable in the signal path. I was stuck using something like a Bitone.1 or other processors to achieve what I have now and the sound is cleaner than ever before. Needless to say I didn't spend anywhere near the $1300 retail price for the unit BNIB from an authorized dealer who is a constant winner in the Pioneer Build-Off at CES every year. They even tried to discount the new 2 5/8" Stage 4 midrange drivers down from the MSRP of $499 to $225 if I would add them to my build. LOL Needless to say they also offered up the other Stage 4 6 3/4" comps for a complete Stage 4 set-up. Don't get me wrong I loved my 880, but when I heard that rules were going to change in the SQ sanctions to reflect the use of external processing I opted to buy the P99.

I am considering going from the DRZ9255 to the P99. I could not agree more on simplicity.

Nothing wrong with the DRZ and I'd have used a highly modded unit from the owner of H-Audio to add to my system since I am a team member I could have gotten it at a really good price. But I used the 880 for years with no problems ever. No pico fuse issues (I'm no noob to the world of that subject). And the P99 navigates through the audio set-up and adjustments almost exactly the same as the 880 with the addition of a 3rd set of drivers.
