Hi my name is Jim and I am retired.
I have a 2007 Toyota Matrix and I have swapped out the stock head unit with a Pioneer double din. So far so good.
Now I want to install the components that were in my previous two Saabs. I have two Alpine amps, a 4 channel MRV-F340 to drive the speakers front and rear, and a 2 channel Alpine amp to drive the sub-woofer in the hatch.
I bought a wiring kit for the two amps and I am in the process of installing them. No problems so far.
The back pair of speakers are two way eclipse 8961 Point Source. I don't know how to wire them to the Amp. Do I need a 2 way crossover circuit?
If so can I use an MB Quart 2 way crossover, PXC110?
The front speakers are an older pair of MB Quart QM160TX2 woofers (6.5" I think), these will go in the front door locations used by the factory speakers. I also have a MB Quart QM 100, two way mid-range and tweeter speakers, tweeter is mounted above the cone of the midrange. I don't know where I will mount this speaker combo. If anyone has a surface mount box that can handle about a 3.5" speaker I am interested.
As with the back speakers I don't know how to connect these speakers to the amp. I assume I need a 3 way crossover circuit. That is why I joined this forum. I saw a user that had an MB Quart 3-way crossover for sale.
Since I have not installed this elaborate a system before I can use guidance. Previously I had professionals install the systems in my Saabs.
