Default New to the site, but not Car Audio

Hey guys, I'm new to this site but not new to car audio. I've known about this site for years and have been linked to it numerous times due to there being some valuable info here. I don't know why, but for some reason I have never registered until now. A little info about me....

It's been a hobby of mine since 1990. Like everyone else into car audio, you get in, you get out, you get in, you get out. But one thing's for sure, it's ALWAYS with you. My latest vacation from CA has been a 2 year break and I haven't been back but for a month now. I figure I have some catching up to do and this should be a great resource to do so. I look forward to interacting with you guys, and hopefully, I can stick around with this hobby for a while.

Thanks! Well, quite a few people on here know me from the CA forums (don't know if we're allowed to say that here or not). I recently sold my 07F150 Supercrew and pulled all of the stuff out. I was running 2 DD1508s on a AQ2200.
I'm now driving an 08 Infinity G35 Sedan and I am currently in the planning stages of that build. I just traded an XCON18 I had, for a DB Drive PT2000.1D.
I plan on selling the 1508's and AQ2200 so I can buy (2) 12's of some kind or one 15 to run on the DB Drive amp. I'm also looking to buy an extra battery for the back, probably an XS Power, but not sure what size I will need. I plan on running the amp at .5 or 1 ohm, so whichever subs can take the power that it put's out.

I was thinking of a few options as far as subs:
-HDC3 15 or 12 D1's
-(2) SA-12's D2s
-an XCON 15 D2
or
-My 1508's are d4's, I am considering grabbing 2 more D4's and running a total of 4 off that amp. The only problem is, these DD's were bought in 8/2009 and I don't know how many updates or versions they have gone through since then, or if I should find 2 more, if they would be compatible. I'm just not sure right now.

Anyways, thanks for the warm welcome. That's what I have going on.

Yes it can. Until I traded for it, I knew nothing of the db drive line. The person I will getting it from said he did it for a year in a daily setup. After more research, others confirmed that it will do .5 as well. I'm really intrigued by the HDC's and right now they have a heck of a price on them, but on the AQ site it says they're back ordered. Now, how long it will take to produce a sub or 2 I guess can be found out by a simple phone call.
The SA12's are beautiful subs and from what every one says, seem to be the subs that match my goals. Very loud subs that sound good going down low as well. I've always wanted an HDC though, but for my system goals, the SA12s might just be the better choice. I need to catch up on my imp values and study this a little more. Used to I could just look at a configuration and just say "ok, this is going to be this kind of load on the amplifier". I'm going to dig more into the SA12's and learn more about their power handling capabilities, and then try to make an educated choice from that. Thanks for the replies guys.
