Default Are any of you guys/gals parents to a teenager??

I wanted to know if anyone on here has teenagers? Reason I ask is because I have a 6 year old son and i wonder how it will be when he gets to be a teenager. I love car audio now but in 10 years when I'm 37 and he's 16-17 years old I wonder if I still will love it like I do now. If i do, I think that would be a good way I can still have something that me and him can do together and make the father/son relationship better. Do any of you guys experience that?

I have a 14 y.o. The best thing you can do is ANY activity together. It really depends on the child. Some like to tinker while others like to be geeks. If he takes to CA then go with it. Just make it exciting and I'm sure he will enjoy the time spent together. Its not so much the activity its the bonding that you do that determines the childs eagarness to wnat to participate IMO. If you yell and scream or don't let the kid try for himself then he probably won't like it. But if you engage him in it and ask for his opnion or help I thin k a will be fine.
I have been into audio since I was 10 y.o. and my father never cared for it(bascally the rap music I listened to) and I plan to be doing it for a long time. I just recently had another son and once he's old enough to turn a wrench I will show him the hobby.

I'm a teenager and I can say my dad does not support CA at all.. It'd be nice if he supported me and allowed me to do what i want with my car but i'm limited. He gives me no money to do it so everything I want is coming straight out of my pocket which is fine just wish he would be into it as I was. I don't have a lot of hobbies and car audio is one, all I can say is if he's into it, that'd be awesome if you helped him and supported him with it.

I agree with audio. I'm 38 now and I have a 16 & 18 teens. Both enjoy different things, but the best thing you can do is get involved with things they like as well as include them in things you like as well. Things change as life goes on. So there's no telling what you or them will like years from now.

I just think it'll be cool if when he gets a car and wants a sound system that his dad knows just as much as he does on something that's considered "cool" to the younger crowd. Also to give a helping hand on installs and all that would be dope as well! I wonder how it'll be 10 years fro
Now though. I enjoy sports (well basketball & football), music, & car audio. Hopefully I still have a passion for those things then and that he's in to it as well. He's already in to music now at 6 so that's a good start!

I'm 32 and have a 16yo son. He has no interest in anything auto related. He's not a nerd like me. Lol. He's very athletic and into girls and fighting. Up until this year he would complain non stop about the music in my truck being too loud. Now that he's driving age he's more tolerant. He doesn't care about what a system is, but he wants one. I think its more of a showing off to his friends thing. His friends love my truck and I think he wants that attention
