Cali sucks. Lived there 31 years, finally moved to TX. Much better all around. Home sickness will pass with time.

yea I was Unimpressed with Cali and I was all over the state. The only reason I am even considering it is the pay is pretty good for the amount of work I have to do.

Cali living costs are some of the highest in the US. What you make extra can cost you more. They just got another tax increase as well.

Well the nice thing about this job is on top of my Normal pay I get $900.00 a week Per-Diem so that covers all my cost for Hotel food and gas. My biggest problem is leaving Family no wife or kids but still that was the hardest thing was to be away.

Edit: I also will still be an ohio resident so cali taxes don't mean that much

can you do whatever you want with the 900 or do they make you spend it on certain things.

The Per-Diem is yours to spend however they do not ask for receipts and yes you get to keep what you Don't spend. When I was out their for the three months I Kept what was left from the Per-Diem for repairs for my vehicle in case something broke because getting to Cell tower sites In California 65% of the towers are on mountains or back very rough roads. My job is easy once I get on site I hook my laptop up and start programing the Hardware at the base of the tower so no climbing.

yea i would be pissed too if i had to go away from my wife. i dont know what to tell you. but you make alot more money than the average person. so i guess thats the sacrifice you have to make.if you didnt have kids. i would just take the girls everywhere i go with me. its a good thing to experience new places staying in one place all the time . you need to really live and just start moving everywhere.

I must have worded that wrong in my post earlier I have no wife and no kids sorry about that. Its just family like My sister brother n law and the kids you know Im just so used to being around them and being able to go see them anytime I want..

Their is one more thing stopping me I own part of a computer company with my brother n law that has been very successful however when it's good it's good but their are times where it is extremely slow and we don't make enough money support overhead cost and to pay both of us...
