Default "How to Install an Amp" Essay

Alright.. so in English class, we need to write a process analysis essay to count as our midterm. The essay can be about anything that we're passionate about. The essay can be either directive or explanatory. I chose directive. The essay I decided on is "How to Install an Amp."

Here's what Im going to mention:

Power Input- Partially completes circuit. Mention wire size & its capacity. Also mention fuse size. Bring up consequences of running too small wire and fuse, along with a fuse too large. Mention voltage.

Ground- Partially completes circuit. Mention wire size & its capacity. Bring up acceptable grounding locations.

Remote Turn On- Tells the amp to turn on

Highpass (Subsonic) Filter- Only higher frequencies than set SSF play. Prevents damage to sub from playing too low frequencies. Mention bottoming out.

Lowpass Filter-
Only lower frequencies than LPF play. Prevents damage to sub from playing too high frequencies.

Input/Output RCAs- carries analog signal between HU & amps

Gain- matches amp input voltage with headunit output voltage. Go over RCAs briefly.

Phase- delays the signal being produced by the amp

Speaker Inputs- sends signal to actual speaker. Mention wire size.

Bass Knob- Can only reduce gain to reduce volume.

Can anybody add anything else worth mentioning?

If its not to far off talk about what the amp actually does? Most don't know they put out AC current.

While thats true, Im not looking to get too technical. My English teacher is a female (not to be sexist), so I may as well speak Latin to her. I just dont want the essay to be too confusing. Ill try and mention AC current. If I cant pull it off well enough, Ill take it out.

You could possibly add in what happens if you don't have the correct electrical to support or what can cause a amp to blow up.
