Default What's more important to your job?

Knowing what you can do or experience? This came up between a co-worker and I swear he makes more hourly than me. I myself been there almost 7 years. He has about 9 months there. He's a smart dude tho so can't be really mad at him, plus he was smart to start high when he got hired on. I made the mistake of starting low when I first started...but what can I do. Thinkin' about finding another job anyways....not gettin' the hours I need.

Neither. Enjoyment! I would gladly take a lesser paying job if I enjoyed it.

Most definatly enjoyment. If you enjoy your job you can be patient with the money. But money in these times is always important so i'm gonna say a good ratio of both

I think it depends on the industry more than anything. Who you know will also be a big thing.

I'm going into engineering, and even though one of my buddies has a higher GPA and potentially more experience than me, I've been with the company I'm going to work for longer (he's starting with a new company after graduation, where I've got almost a full year on co-op with the company I'm going to work for), the company I'll be at is bigger than the one he'll be working at. Assuming we each take the jobs that are on our plates, I'll be making ~$10k per year more than him.

Going from mcdonalds to autozone (still not a "real" job but oh well. I make slightly more money, but i actually enjoy going to work. My entire enjoyment of life is more now that i dont ever dread going to work.

I can say I make $7.50 (I know nothing in this day and age) but its an income and I love what I do. I work with dogs at the local humane society. The dogs are my top priority not people. Although I will say I've spend the last 6 years in customer service and enjoy it. I turned down a job that pays over double what I make to stay.. You do need money to survive. Just do what you love man! No point in returning to your tiring burnt out job day after day.

I is easier to get a new job when you have a job. So don't quit until you find a new job.
