Default Time to move on??

Well, it's now been almost 4 months and haven't worked any o/t at work, I own a house, have a family to take care of, and have plenty of bills each month, like everybody else. Did notice that other people work o/t as well. And there's a few other co workers that are hurting too. I've been with this company for about 6-7 years now. And right now, I'm struggling to catchup...thanks Christmas!! Anyway, I'm gonna talk to my boss this week and see if I can switch shifts for about a few months or so because seems nightshift gets a lot of o/t for some reason. Gonna try one additional thing before I go and look for another job. If it doesn't work, then I may have to say goodbye. I'm updating my resume this week. Thoughts/comments welcome.

Switching jobs after a long time sucks. Ask your boss if the OT will come back. 4 months isn't a long time in the grand-scheme of things.

either A switch jobs or B switch living styles... remember Americans have this uncanny ability to turn a want into a need. I do it all the time. Step back and take a look at your finances and adjust your lifestyle accordingly.

You sound like my mom, lol. I told her kinda the same thing and replied with the same thing. So yea, my wife and I are looking into our bills, and seeing which ones were gonna have to cut. Dam CEO's makin wayyyy too much money, and I know Obama was looking at their pay because they're the ones driving the companies to the ground.

Ride it out if you like it there. I don't know what you do, but almost everything slows down in the winter. The ot should come back when summer hits.

Hah, ive had a few years of Econ classes... but furthermore, you cant base your living expenses off of overtime. Many people do this. Short run its a viable option, longrun it is not as you are experiencing now. O/T is uncertain and finite. Adjust spending based on fixed income not variable income.

And as far as the CEO making to much money, there is a reason why he is a CEO when on the bottom looking up the pyramid we envy, when on top of the pyramid we continue to look up and try to make another pyramid
