Question How do YOU afford this expensive hobby?

I made $2 k in 2 weeks last year on a good month. A bit slow now and sadly i didnt know too much about what was out there or what i wanted and i dont have much to show for it.

Just wondering how some of you afford $500 subs and what not.

Bonus if you include how you got there (that position, etc)

Well I deffinetly have never made 2k in 2 weeks but I on a good day pull about 500 take home a week. I have two hdc3 18s and it took a while to save for those. Also selling older equipment helps. If you know people you can find side jobs or odd jobs. Bit mostly saving is the key.

Lot of people take out loans and try to act hard, but underneath they are up to their ears in debt. (I know quite a few people who do this) Nothing to wrong with that, but I don't play the loan game on hobby's. I understand finances and to me it's retarded to do that.

Me, I work in the oilfield so I do pretty good money wise. Plus I play a lot in the stock market. On a two week paycheck I will take home 3k + bonus.

I have zero problems with people having a shop or other enthusiast do their build. But it's a little disrespectful they take credit for it and/or don't correct people when they assume the owner did the work. Happens all the time.

I'm a carpenter but I do all types of construction. I run a 4 man crew most of the year and we build 1500-1600 sq foot houses on average in about 6 days so I usually make good money doing that. And then all the side jobs. I can make anywhere from 1000-2000 a week. Especially in the summer

Saving is a big thing
But it also helps most car audio gear holds its value well

You can get a used 5k and for $900 use it all year and sell it for $900.....

Saving is a big thing, and not touching the money til you have what you need.

Buying/selling/trading can help a lot if you know what your doing. I used to pick up gear from pawn shops for cheap and hustle them elsewhere(good working equipment). Like a couple years back, I traded a $30 cadence 4chan for a cadence ultrashock 4chan and flipped it for 150.

Good deals are to be had everywhere, you just have to know where to look.
