Default Why is everyone so cheap?

Ive noticed this more and more with having affiliation with some shops etc.... seen a loss of over 4-600$ in a couple months sales at trying to get people the best price. what the hell is happening? I havent noticed it so much until now.And i understand why some people are jerks on pricing. (Ie dc). Feels dawg

I don't understand what exactly you are saying, lol.

Everyone likes to be frugal. Most shops are scammers anyway with ridiculous prices.

but when dealing with the larger stuff like we do i would expect people wanting to spend what its worth. then we have some d!ckwads posting dealer cost and everyone expects to get it.... i know you guys went out because of it.

The almighty lowball. Thank you Craigslist. Pretty much once classifieds came in a forum state such as Craigslist the idea that every price is negotiable came about. Granted some things can be negotiated fairly but it seems if you post something for sale you absolutely will get lowballed and negotiated with. You cant do that at Target so why should you be able to do that to a stranger unless their price is extremely out of line.

Scammers?? You have never owned a business before I guess? The price the shop pays for equipment is just one of MANY other costs. Like taxes, insurance, labor, work comp, phones, tools, utilites rent, marketing, etc.

Can't blame them for actually wanting to make 20-30% on what they sell can you? I am sure the place you work is somehow making money by selling a product or service with a margin....unless you are a gov employee.

Target/walmart etc, are corporations with about as many stores as these little shops have products.

And most of the time, car audio prices are extremely out of line. I usually ask how much it actually costs them and I see if they will haggle. I mean, if we both know the price they paid, and they want to move a product that isn't moving, why not sell for a bit lower than normal, if a profit it still made? Most people want to hide that and that's shady to me.

I dislike how prices of these brands and dealer costs are kept a secret. Seems very very shady and I don't like that one bit.

Let's see. First AND LAST shop I paid charged $80 to run 8awg front to back. They went AROUND the firewall grommet. Wire was almost cut by the time I upgraded it.

Local shop wants $100 per hour for ANY work.

For a guy like me, and most people on here that can do most of the work they need done, that's a huge rip-off.
