Default Bosch Power Box Radio experience?

Anyone have experience with Bosch tools/batteries? More specifically their Power Box radio? Looking to pick one up for camping, kayaking, beach, and garage use. It's weatherproof so some splashes of water should be alright. Do they have quality 18v batteries? I have pretty much all Ridgid tools but the Ridgid radio isn't rated to withstand water so I've kindve ruled it out. I wish it was so I could just use the batteries I already own but o well.

Nobody has experience with this radio, or even Bosch overall?

I have one... I work construction and use it everyday. I had the older model before this one and both of them have worked great! There batteries are top notch, radio sounds great and also has usb.

I have left this thing in the rain while working and ive never had a problem with it.
I think its definitely the best Job style radio out there.

Bosch are a German company heavily involved in the electrics market from car parts to your household appliances. Very well regarded. My Bosch cordless drill has been through 2-3 years of heavy use and still runs like the day I got it.

I am getting exposed to the UE Boom. It's really small and it has good sound for its size. It's water resistant and has a full days worth of music on a full charge. I have to say its priced at $200 but I found its well worth it and sounds awesome. It's Bluetooth and you can use a headphone plug. Not trying to sell you on it but you should go to your local Best Buy and try it out. I find that portable work radios are just like the 80s boom boxes and don't play that long. I have a contractor buddy that swears by his Milwaukee radio.

Thanks for the replies guys!

I also have the previous model, the Bosch PB 10-CD. Sound is great, has many similar features as this but I'd like to try the updated model.

The UE looks nice but doesn't look very durable which is a must for me. Taking it on a river, camping, beach, garage etc. I'm sure the sound quality might be better in the boom though lol. Plus the Bosch has external outlets, and weatherproof media bay to house my iPod.

Glad to hear you guys like Bosch overall as a company. I only own a jigsaw by them, and the rest of my tools are ridgid. I bought the new Bat620 fat pack 4.0ah batteries to power this thing up without a power cord. Hopefully each one should last all day! Lol
