Default Shotguns for home defense?

Been thinking about this for awhile now. Wanting to get a firearm for home defense. I live in a apartment and although i've had no issues in the past two years it seems like the people in this world are getting worse. Just want to be prepared, just in case. So with that being said, what are some good choices when it come to home defense? I know I could google it but i've no clue about guns or whats good or bad. Any advice?

dude the remington 870 has been the most reliable shotgun for decades now for budget home owners looking exactly for home defense. but if you want to get more personal, i would suggest a .45

I've been looking at that one the express tactical. One of my favorites so far. I would look at getting a pistol or revolver but i've always heard that they are not very accurate. If someone breaks in I don't want to miss.

Grip choice is personal preference.

As for long gun vs handgun, one is nice and compact the other big and lanky. Take your pick of what is most important to you. As for accuracy, it all depends on the individual behind the weapon, regardless of the type.

This minus the pistol grip. Those make it awkward and hard to control.

If you think about it a 16" barreled rifle or 18.5" barreled shotgun isn't much longer then a pistol at the ready
