Stylez, I'm in somewhat the same boat as you. I've been with the company for approaching 7 years now. Lots of changes happening on a weekly basis because the company was sold to a much larger corporation back in 2009/2010 after the financial crises. It's very difficult leaving a place you've been at a long time, know the feeling. I keep asking myself there's plenty of opportunity out there but starting over, and getting back to seniority sucks. Plus who knows if you get laid off in say 6 months or so if the company cutsback. Sure, I can go someplace and make more $$ as we all wanna, but would it be worth it in the longrun?? It's a def risktaker.
The company I work for the insurance is crap....and very expensive to the point where I know a lot of people opted out because it was too much, for a family of 4. I occasionally get o/t but not all the time. If I had it my way, I'd rather get the o/t than none at all. And I'm talking about a company with 325+ people...and I know of a smaller company with 200+ with better insurance, go figure. Oh sure, we got profit sharing too every 1/4 (3 months) which isn't bad....hell having extra $$ we can always use!!
So it's a tough decision. Perhaps as someone said, take a week or two vac and try out another company...sorta a trial for yourself and start asking questions to the local co workers how long they been there how they like it how the insurance is how they're treated, etc.
