Default Florida people!!

Sinking central Florida resort villa evacuated

What's the deal with the sinkholes in this state recently?? Guess someone has to explain to me why the under earth ground is eroding away.

Trying to go to Orlando/Kissimmee area for vacation in a few months...we'll see.

Because the entire state is basically at or below sea level plus the fact much of the state has natural springs and waterways underneath it and 1k plus ppl move to fla everyday and development is constant it's not a big surprise

BTW Don't worry about your vacation. The reason news like this makes national news is because it's so rare

The dramatic ones that swallow buildings are very rare. Usually they just cause unnatural settling and cracks in driveways or foundations.

Lots of limestone deposits underground in Florida, especially along the I-4 corridor. If they deteriorate enough, sinkholes form. In IL all I had to worry about was blizzards, now down here I have to worry about falling through the floor in my sleep! HAHA

Nah, it's good. Still wanna do miniature golf....miss those days and WA has nothing of that sort whatsoever, Dam space needle that's all....

No outdoor activities to do. I don't fish. I go camping maybe once a year. Lots of businesses have closed up over the years. Seattle Center which was a carnival type ordeal almost all year long closed down after 30-40 years or so. Didn't have a chance to take my kids there to experience it. Downtown Seattle you gotta pay to park...it's gotten ridiculous here lately. Cold here a lot too.

If I didn't have family, I'd move to FL. At least there you can do some outdoor things, plenty to do.

Went to Kissimmee last year and to Universal Studios(Orlando, of course). My oldest wanted to go on the Harry Potter ride. Now she wants to go back because the Transformers ride is finally finished. Was fun...hope to go again.

PLenty of miniature golf places my god. You drive a block there's one. Drive a mile down the road, there's another. Fun Spot in Kissimmee didn't go last year but hope to go soon. At least you guys in FL have Dunkin Donuts!! They dried up here years ago. We barely have a few Krispy Kreme stores around.
