Default question about Yamaha Raptor 660

I'm sure some of you guys ride and or work on your own quads amd may give a little insight. I have an 04 raptor 660. I don't race or anything. I probably have it on the street as much as the dirt. Never anything crazy. Well my wife, my son and I went to go for a ride and I heard a funny sound from the crank case. I parked it and figured it was something to do with the clutch as recently it has started to slip once warm, but creep when cold.
Today I had time to open it up and several of the disc broke. One of them is in about 30 pieces and 2 ears off the clutch basket are broken off.
My first thought was clutch disc failed and took out the basket, but I figured I may get some opinions from someone that is a little more experienced with quads.

Sorry I sound retarded, but I'm blaming all the typographical errors on my phone. Lol

It doesn't sound like anything too far out of the ordinary to me. The stock clutch baskets are a weak spot in most machines, especially if you are modding and doing higher hp/tq numbers than stock.

Considering clutch and motor.share the same oil you will need to do a very thorough job cleaning the entire oil system so you don't have motor issues. If you decide to split the case for any reason replace factory rod, they are very weak in the 660.

I was also going to say that the basket probably broke. They do wear over time and its not uncommon for them to fail.
