Default How far is it to the borders of your state? {from where you live}

When I went to Canada and traveled from Winnipeg to Saskatoon, everything seemed so damn far away.. not just because of kilometers either.. it really is. the distance to the next large city was about 140miles, then 200miles, then 150miles. There's really no place to stop for gas. You have to be prepared.

I was thinking about this.. and I think some people from the east coast would feel the same way if they came to Iowa or a larger state out west. {or an empty state somewhere in between}

I live in Waterloo Iowa for me it's

90 miles East
210 miles West
70 miles North
130 miles south

75 miles north of the mexican border, 28 miles east of the pacific ocean, 210 miles west of arizona, 230 miles south west of nevada border and 636 miles south of oregon. Once you get out of the metropolis it's wide open spaces with sparse cities far and few. Nothing like cruising the desert for miles and passing a few cars not to mention you can crank it up way up! But when I lived in vegas the 95 from vegas to reno is called the loneliest hwy in america! There are more hole in the wall towns in nevada than any other place Iv'e been! Most were under 100 population

I'm in southern nm, about 30 minutes from mexico. Not much here besides open desert and mountains. I have lived in a few states on east and west coast. I am able to enjoy my stereo as loud as i want without bothering anyone in a 10 minute drive. On the east its completely populated, i bet you LOUD guys get lots of complaints.
