Default Jobs in Car Audio? Places to look?

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good place to search for jobs specifically in the car audio realm. I have been looking at companies individually, but thought maybe there was a better way. I have also be using general engineering job search websites.

I am an engineer (Industrial Automation at the moment), but would love to find a job somewhere related to audio. This could be with a manufacturer or anywhere downstream in the industry.

Any input or ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Don't wanna burst your bubble but I think it's getting more difficult to get yourself into a car audio place to work. I would think your "resume" is the car that you installed your car audio into.

What's this industrial automation that you have?! Any CNC??

Thanks Boom!! Yea, no bursting my bubble needed. I know it is probably a long shot, but it's one worth looking into.

I agree with the "resume" part, as my professional resume will not lend much in the area of relevant experience.

As far as CNC's go, I have not done much G code in a while, but I have written programs before, years ago. I have also done CNC "like" things with a PLC. I worked for Allen-Bradley and know their motion platform very well, which can be used to do the same thing as CNC's for the most part.

Something to consider...a CNC maintenance person should make good $$ and always needed. My place of employment is hurting for people. But that's a long shot from you.
Just a side note.

Yes, Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) are the ones I know best. PLC's in general though.

I have worked with both Johnson Controls and Siemens before, but on a limited basis. Mainly conversions to the AB PLC's.

Just in case..... it's not that I am out of work, or even want to make more money. I have plenty of work, but if I could find a place in the audio industry to put my engineering experience and love for audio to work, I would change careers to do so.

my advice is to just keep it a hobby, you can have just as much fun with none of the stress involved

not car audio but have looked into Milwaukee where allen bradley, and jci's headquarters are? I used to work for jci and had a chance to visit hq last oct and was really impressed with their R&D I'm sure allen bradleys is similar.

Really the only built in the us companys anymore are mmats in fl and zedd in cali. I'm sure im missing one and will be jumped on for it but besides that you have to go south or far east for other companies buildhouses and design

Yes, actually my girlfriend works at the AB headquarters in Milwaukee lol. I have been there before too. I worked for AB for 5 years.

There are quite a few companies that have some form of engineering here, even if they make the products elsewhere.
