Default Why are people so stupid!?

Okay, I was literally looking at the sundown rant thread and this number that I haven't seen in a long time is calling me at 1:30 in the morning....well I decide to answer it and to my surprise it was the person that I did an install for years ago. They sound all pissed off and accuse me of stealing their equipment out of their car because I was the "only" one who knew how to deactivate their alarm. Long story short. While doing the install, I had their bottom beauty plate taken off under the steering wheel and I accidently hit this very small switch that was just hanging there with my shoulder which was apparently a shut off switch to their alarm. Who the hell puts a damn shut off switch that close or a shut off switch to an alarm in a car? That's so stupid...well they go on and on about how they think I stole their equipment. So I told them to call the police because I just literally got home from work and I live an hour and a half away from them. They then tell me that they don't have insurance on the car and cannot call the police....seriously?
Why would you have atleast 2 grand of audio equipment in your car with NO insurance?

Why are people so stupid -.-'.

-end rant-

*Moral of this story* If you cannot afford insurance for your car, do not go out and buy expensive audio equipment and then pray that it doesn't get stolen.

The moment I decided to buy car audio for my g6, the first thing I did was upgrade my insurance to cover everything in my car. Sure, it's a pain in the arse and requires pictures, receipts, more pictures and the whole nine yards...but it's protected. I also went out and brought an expensive alarm that notifies me when my car alarm is going off on my phone and also has a gps tracker on it.

So please people...go the extra yard to protect your investment. It may be a pretty penny, but if things go south..you'll get your money back. I hate hearing all this stuff that people go through after putting all that money they worked hard for and their time into their car for some petty ******* to come along and rip it out like it was nothing. It's very painful to read about it.

To all bassheads it's like a swift kick to

Edit: I sincerely apologize if I offended anyone by what I said, but it's a rant.

That's when you contact the police and report him he has no car insurance. How do you know this, they may ask? Because he told you.

Sucks if you buy used gear at a good price :\ how do you prove you bought it? Kinda lame that you would have to basically fruad the insurance company to be covered.

I'm guessing there were other people that also knew about the alarm though. He likely told friends...people you know are more likely to steal from you than strangers.

I bet he was always advertising in his neighborhood as well.

Exactly^^^. And they don't just see a car and say "well I think I'm going to go break into that one". They will watch you for at least a week before they rob the car, unless they are stealing the entire car. Those guys usually just see it, get in and go

Thank you.

After a few years, the guy has the balls to call him up and say you screwed something up...come fix it?? I can understand if it was a day or two or even a week but who the hell knows what could go wrong after a few years. Anything could go wrong.

Graham...you might wanna rethink that comment. I see you post some pretty silly threads around here and I can just tell from people they laugh at you behind the computer.

You're right. He should feel great about having $2000 worth of gear stolen. What was I thinking. Let's make a bad situation worse by getting his car stolen by the police too.

Without a police report to back up his story, it's just that, a "story". Last time I checked you don't need insurance on a car to park it in your driveway, so why not report it? The police are not going to steal his car because he doesn't have insurance on it.
