I'm 90% sure that the positive reviews are the fake ones. This wouldn't be the first time that companies hire inside people to make fake reviews to sell product. As I'm sure you know, yelp itself is not trustworthy anymore as businesses can pay to have negative reviews removed.
I had a guy offer me this thing
Guardzilla Wireless AllinOne Video Security System Black GZ502B - Best Buy
Looks cool. Control the camera from anywhere (go to mcdonalds, see what's going on, record anyone entering my room, etc)
First off, I notice it's cheap plastic (first sign of crappy product). Then I try to get the app. "Not available on tablets". Well, considering my s4's wifi stopped working, this was the only device I could use. Useless.
I also had a "looxcie" headset camera from frys for $100. Quality was crap but the device was very nice in both quality and looks and features. All around nice camera IMO. There are HD versions but this did the job for the most part.
Well, turns out that right after I sold it for a slight loss, they decided to terminate all server connectivity.
This must have been why fry's was so eager to sell them. Must have tipped all the retailers off that they were about to discontinue the product.
All these un-known brand items are just a huge risk and should be avoided IMO.
