Default murdered cop in fox lake il

so, i just moved back to fox lake last weekend only to find a town in uproar due to a murdered cop the next day.

as much as i don't play into the whole 'cops are there to protect you', i have to say that lt. glieniwicz was an actual good guy out to serve our community. it's a damned shame the man was days from retirement and senselessly shot while in pursuit of three suspects.

things have been rather crazy out here... ive never seen so many law enforcement officials in one place, but the fact there are three fugitives, with a high probability of being armed still on the loose in the area has created a community of vigilant armed citizens ready to put their own lives at risk to catch these shitbags.

truth be told, if i was allowed to own firearms, id be out there hunting these ****ers as im very familiar with the complex terrain ive lived among for almost my entire life.

some cops are dicks, some are not, but 'gi joe' was just doing his job as he had done for the last thirty two years,... there is no reason, at least as far as my knowledge goes, to fathom why he and his family deserved this.

i keep saying it to everyone i talk to that every citizen capable of legally arming themselves should do so to lessen the risk of this crazy shit happening throughout our nation.

in the words of robert heinlein; "an armed society is a polite society"

Weird a cop was ambushed here in houston and murdered, but the dude got arrested.

Now tons of cops sit at the gas station all day with news crews.

I could careless if a cop gets killed or not. They murder more people in houston for no reason all the time.

An ex-nfl player got stopped and he had a gun pointed at him by a cop for trying to get his wallet under his seat

Who the **** keeps their wallet under their seat? If i was the cop i would have been on edge too. People give cops way too hard of a time for over reacting but think about if you were a cop and knowing certain people are willing to kill to get away but not knowing which ones are and arent..... You would be jumpy and over react too. I used to want to be a cop until i did a ride a long in oceanside with my dads friend it was ****ing intense , police bring out a dark side in criminals and they give off a very creepy vibe even when its just a normal traffic stop.

We have problems with people coming up to our cars with guns and robbing people.

Not everyone has the ballz to slam the gas and go.

well, there is a substantial difference between metro cops and suburban cops,.. a friend i grew up with joined the chicago pd as a second generation officer only to quit the force due to the corruption he saw and wanted no part of.... well that, and his i.q. was too high to blindly follow orders without his conscience objecting.

on the other hand, a friend i went to high school with has been a correctional officer at the county jail for almost twenty years and has always been fair with the inmates.

as a law enforcement officer, the conditions of your environment are subjective to how you respond,.. those officers that escalate encounters just for a collar tend to be power hungry,.. usually metro police, but the small town beat cops and county sheriffs ive run into over the years for the most part have a better handle on displaying dignity,... until a suspect just digs himself a hole out of non compliance.

cops are simply human beings just like the rest of us,... human nature is a fickle bitch.

Its funny how we can be so quick to judge and assume.
We will never be in the accused shoes so it is impossible to know what he or she thought, saw, or whatever.
If the accused gave the benefit of the doubt and wound up being wrong/dead then everyone will say, "Stupid cop. I'd would of just shot the guy. He obviously was going for a gun but now he's dead cause he's an idiot...."
But that is not the case. The accused did what he thought was right, fought for his life, and defended himself with deadly force, so now he is a murderer.
Everyone makes mistakes. And if it was YOUR life on the line, I'm sure you would of made the same one....its that or possibly get killed.
I'm not trying to clear anyone's name here, I just cannot stand asinine, stupid, stereotypes that we sometimes shit out of out mouth proving our own ignorance, immaturity and lack of knowledge/understanding of the situation.

And on top of that, two wrong do not make a right.

Thank you.

I am also sick of race coming into play everytime someone gets killed it pisses me off the whole white cop killing a black person is ridiculous if you are a criminal you are a criminal no matter skin color.

I don't care when this happens. They know what they signed up for. I've seen too much bullshit personally in my life.

Conversely, when suspects get shot...I don't care. MOST of them are running or not complying. They know what they signed up for by being a criminal.
