Default Reasonable Prices

I am not bashing any particular person or sale on this site but I just want to hear other people's opinion. Now I am wondering, why is it that various people will have the same item for sale, and the prices are like roller coasters. Now I understand that items differ, but how do you know which one to choose? If I have a head unit, and want to sell it for $300.00 and it is in just about perfect condition, why would someone sell the same item for $400.00 with the same condition. The item in this example is about 1-2 years old, and goes for about $500 brand new. Just a guide on how to shop on here.

yeah but i think some ppl are tryin to get over. I think that people needs to know that if you have opened and used something it is USED. Some people label things as new and you read the description and it says it is 2 days old or 5 hours. That stuff sounds like BS. Am I wrong. And everybody in life knows that once something is used it goes DOWN in price not UP. I think people would sell better if they used that rule.

There is no etiquette on pricing items F/S. If I spend my money on something and decide I have no need of it later, it's my choice of what I want back out of it. What I ask is what it's worth to me, what it's worth to someone else is up to them. Who am I to try to place my values on others?

I give a good honest price. Shipping rates are crazy now. At least more than when I sold my last round of stuff.

About the like new. Some of us buy to try.

Knock off a little bit so someone else doesn't have pay full price. Sounds real cool to me.

With proper description and pics you should easily be able to make an informed decision. This is what makes or breaks a seller. How good a buyer you are is up to you.

sounds fair. I just hate to see people selling items for about 10% off and it is used. when most items lose the warranty just b/c the item switched owners.

That comes down to seller too.

You gotta drop more than you'd like sometimes too because for plus or minus 20 bucks you could get the same product brand new. A seller sometimes may not know that either.

I think in a classified on any forum a warranty is just a perk. I don't really shop for one...lol If receipts transfer with it awesome.

I agree. Say an amp is worth $500 BNIB all day everyday, when you decide to sell yours that's been used for a few weeks or even a month or 2 don't expect to sell it for lets say 480+. I've seen a couple sales where items were fairly used and only 5-10% off bnib price.

Shipping is expensive but you have to deal with it.
Just cause you payed $200 shipped for something it doesn't mean shipping was free for the seller. You should never use shipping as an excuse for a high price.

For me anything that is used isn't worth more than 85% of bnib prices.

My $.02

That is what I am saying. I would say about 75% because the warranty is most likely revoked. So you basically want some one to pay brand new prices for a USED item. No matter how long it has been used it is used. I am glad that it is a free country ( to a certain extent) because we would all be ripped off because of people like that.

There's no cut and dry re-sale value, some items hold more value than others, and some people don't want to take a huge loss, thus they sell for only slightly less in hopes that it will sell, there's no thing wrong with that.
