Default Home Depot Dot Com Trying To rip Me Off

Never been a fan of Home Depot but they are the closest hardware/builder supply around us.

Ordered a light fixture, took about 1wk to get it delivered to the store, then they said it got smashed and wanted me to drive in, accept it then return it.

They had an expected arrival date 'range' and the early arrival would be just fine but it took till the latest date and was smashed.

So I made a few calls finally got someone to tell me they could just cancel the order and refund me instead of wasting my time and gas for nothing.

HD told me they had released the return of funds but it said it was pending and it was PayPal who was holding up the money on their end...

Called Paypal and they said there is no pending refund, we will open a claim right now.

So beware if using HomeDepot.com, I wont be using it again, after my money gets back I will likely be closing out our credit with them too.

Sorry to hear that. I have not had any problems with them while upgrading my home.

I have only had 3 problems with them over the years, these two and when Rigid cordless tools first came on the scene, I bought their kit and had a warranty issue, when they first came out they had a lifetime warranty and thats why I bought them, they were more expensive than Dewalt but had the lifetime warranty and I was doing construction so I was excited about it since we would go through tools and batteries quickly. Well when I tried to get them replaced under warranty they tried to tell me they only had a 1yr warranty, I said no no no, when I bought them it was a lifetime warranty, thats why I spent almost $700 for them instead of $500 for Dewalt, I had to fight them and they finally called corporate and after being there for an hour waiting for them to get their heads out of their butts they said they no longer run that promotion, I said I didnt care, I bought them during the promotion, check the date code and here's my receipt....They replaced the defective tool and said they would no longer be able to warrant the products, I never bought another Rigid cordless tool, not to mention the rpms on the tools were so slow it actually slowed down my production and made horrible cuts in wood and they were heavier than everything else on the market but that was because they had metal unlike the others (figured it would make them more tough when being man handled on the job.....Nope....

Ended up giving the tools away, hated them...

In original post forgot to mention issue 2

ordered a drip kit and extra fittings which were in stock at local store, got email and message on HD account page saying they pulled the products and were ready for pickup...

Got a call saying they were not in stock....

Status change on web or through a follow up email never happened.

Drove 60 miles round trip to get the kit at another store

Yeah, Dewalt is my favorite powertool brand.

I rebuild cordless drill packs at work all the time. I do a lot of 18v Dewalt and Black & Decker packs.

When I buy tools, I get Dewalt.

I've got the largest consumer-available corded Dewalt drill and love it.

When it bites wrong though, it'll damn near break your wrist. I was drilling holes in the bed of my truck to run my power wire when the bit caught and threw me into the side of the bed. Thought I was going to break my arm

harbor freight still gets most of my shekels, bought a $45 hammer drill and its worked great for me, 3 years later. doesnt mean hf is all good stuff, do your research before you complain about the POS you bought for 1/10th the price of the real thing

i go to home depot pretty often though for things hf doesnt have, no problems here, other than them not stocking things that they should stock (it's obviously a corporate 'lets save every penny we can' thing)

I've had customers with similar issues, most of the time they didn't realize they were ordering from a third party
