Default 99 Balloons For All You Parents & Supporters

Well, this is one of those things where I wasnt sure to post, but after a careful thought it made me think about what CAC is doing, the Children's Memorial Hospital fundraiser & of course my son. Fortunately nothing bad has happened to him although he has weak kidneys but he will grow out of it as he gets older, hes only 16 months old.

Anywho, the women ran across this in a forum she is on as she & I are big supporter of Shaken Baby Syndrome being her daughter was placed on critical care with tubes running from her head when she was 15 months old I think (Just seen the pics for the first time a couple days ago, words cant express what was going through my mind at the time) It was the ex hubby's girl at the time who did it while baby setting.

This is called 99 balloons, its about a parents diary of their son. It brought some tears to my eyes as I watched this. Made me VERY grateful for childrens hospitals & people like you mods/staff & those who help/donate & take the time to help give to others because this baby wouldnt have made as far if it wasnt for that...

Just something I thought I would share with you all out there!!

That is quite an amazing story and it is quite sad but it's amazing to see the strength and fortitude tha Eliot's parents put forward. I've gone through the loss of a child (my sisters daughter) and I can say the pain you feel from such a loss can never quite be captured in words but it is a huge step in life to go through something like that and realize just what that person really was and meant to your life.

that story is very touching. And it is a blessing in itself for Eliot to live that 99 days. His family will be in my prayers

Wow, that was very touching. I applaud them for being so strong throught their trials. This makes me so happy that we do have a fundraiser going on to help children like this.

Nismos14: Truly sorry to hear about your sisters loss, I can only imagine the pain & sorry you & your family went through, will keep you all in my prayers!

It is a touching story & he was a very lucky little man (Eliot) to make it as far as he did! Thank god for all the helpful folks out there that made it possible for him to make it as far as he did, so his parents could experience one of the greatest joys one can have & defeat the odds that were placed against him...

Thanks it's hard to believe it was 5 years ago now. That little angel turned my life around, literally.

It's really amazing to see how many people helped.

This reminds me of the little boy I met at the Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago that had some disease I had never heard of and they had pretty much gave up on as far as saying that he wouldn't make it to see 5yrs old and that really hurt my heart. That's was made me decide to do the fundraiser from seeing how many kids and families they had helped.

Hats of to all of these miracle kids that have changed our life in one form or another.

A family close to my mom and dad are experiencing something similar right now.
The baby was born with an underdeveloped lung and has some cardio problem because of it(his heart is over-working because the lung is having problems getting enough oxygen), he also has some form of artery/vain problem on his arm, I'm not exactly sure what it is, the doctors think it may be a birth-mark problem. They are going to work on that today or tomorrow I think.
The baby has been kept paralyzed and sedated pretty much since he was born to keep him from crying and moving too much so he doesn't over-work his heart. He has also been placed on oxygen since day 1, they have tried to lower the percentage only to encounter other problems. He is about 3 weeks old right now, supposedly has a 25% chance of living. That's all the information I have right now, I couldn't Imagine the stress they are going through with this, the baby is doing better one day and bad the next and has been going back and forth like that.
