Do any of you here use Heatware? It's a site dedicated to feedback for purchases made on forums and allows users to leave evaluations similar to those left on fleabay. It makes keeping your references together very easy and also makes it super easy for potential traders to verify a user's history. Not only that but you can list all your nom de guerres for each forum you frequent.

Moving to Offtopic. Pretty cool idea though but how is it verified? Does the person you deal with come to that site and make an evaluation or do you do it?

You give me your heatware alias, I post an evaluation from within my account. The aliases are tied to an email account so you can verify they are who they say they are by getting an email from them via their listed email account. It's pretty bulletproof.

Sorry about where I posted it but it's kinda a site suggestion since the site's centered around the buying/selling of CA. I would've posted it in a trading tips forum if we had one

I wouldn't use it for CAC since it would be hard to verify and some people (not all) would missuse it to inflate their rating or score. CAC's iTrader has to have a valid link which has to link to a thread in the for sale sections. I think it's a lot more secure and accurate. Thanks for the suggestion though and I'm sure it could be helpful for some on here that may want to use it.

Ok, I am lost here. If you look in my profile you'll notice my email address along with every alias I use at every forum I frequent. Now, if you get approached by someone claiming to be me at a forum not listed or just to make sure that I am, indeed, who I claim to be you can simply request an email from that email account listed in my profile. If it can't be produced then it wouldn't be the person that alias belongs to. On top of that you can look up the email of every person that left me an eval and contact them directly via the email they have listed.

Yeah, there are those that give themselves false heat (as it's called) but when it's discovered (and most heat users can spot a fake right away) and gets reported the account is closed and removed.

I'm not suggesting that you supplant your current eval system, just that this would be handy for users than want an easy at a glance rep system.

I guess the point of it is that even though someone might not appear to be an established trader because they're new to a certain genre of forums, it doesn't necessarily mean that they're new to forum trading in general.

No, you don't ask for heat from past dealings, you just give heat at the completion of a deal just like you do on a forum thread. It's a supplementary thing that allows me or anyone else to see your refs in detail without having to query your trading partners.

If you've looked at my profile, opened my evals then you can see how the deals they're tied to went. What's nice about using heatware is that it prevents someone from burying their past deeds. As it stands now if I had a bad deal on another forum under a different user name I could hide it here by never mentioning it and hoping that it never resurfaced in the form of the other party finding me here and ratting on me. If, on the other hand all my deals are on my heat alias under all my user names then whe you read my evals you'll see whether my trades went well or if I had a few skeletons in my closet.

What happens if you have a bad deal on another forum and do not mention the deal nor the userid to Heat?

Not trying to bad talk the site just trying to understand the concept.
