Default so excited!

Bought a 5 month old American Pitbull yesterday at the local pound. He was part of a cruelty case, his parents where bread to fight and had to be put to sleep. They found him and 4 other brothers left for dead in the backyard. They where without water and food and all had protruding spines,pelvis, and ribs. Apparently he is 5 months but is physically and mentally 3 months. When they found him a month ago he weighed all of 10lbs they nursed him and now he is up to 20lbs, but reading through his medical history is the saddest thing i have ever read, they recorded everything from the day he got in, such as him falling off a bench and hurting his leg, blood in his stool, diahrea, and skin problems. The sad part is that i honestly spent all day there yesterday trying to get him (9:30 am to 4m) back and forth trying so hard to get him, i suppose me being 20 years old tattoos and trying to buy a pitbull must have raised some red flags. They where trying everything in their will to keep me from getting him, but needless to say i got him! I was determined. But honestly this is why these pitbulls dont have homes, because they make it impossible to get them. I know he has health issues, and i could find a perfectly healthy one but i want HIM. I already went to a specialist and had her look through his medical history and her only concern was the skin issue, she then assured me with medication and everything (IF he has mange or demodex) i could be walking out spending under $100 tops. The vet at the pound was telling me $700-$800 to make me change my mind. Other than that the specialist said with the right nutrition, love, and care he will be just fine . Usually i wouldnt take a dog that could possibly have problems, but when i asked to look at him the vet gave me the low down on him, all of his brothers where stronger and where all sold, but her way of putting it was "he is like the left over stuff after, an after christmas sale and no one wants him" after hearing this i had to buy him. I get to pick him up at 4 today, right now he is getting neutered. Little did he know that he was gonna wake up this morning and get his boys snipped off.

Good luck with him. Yes, if you love him, feed him and talk to him as you do things he will be your best friend and the best dog you'll ever have. Don't ever hit him regardless of what happens because hitting him might lose any progress you make with him even if he's never been beaten.

His life has been hard, you know that. You will find he has fear of things which you will not understand. Try to understand this because the other option is frustration and you don't want that. You will need to adjust for this. He may be afraid of tight corridors, dark rooms, and noises which are common and normal to you; {garbage disposal, toilet, washing machine, dishwasher, TV, music}

Don't let him sleep on the bed with you but you can let him sleep on the floor next to your bed. He will get used to this after a few nights.

LMAO what a bittersweet story for him. He gets an owner who plans to make him healthy and take good care of him,...... and then that owner gets his balls chopped off haha. I'm sure he would much rather be alive and soon healthy without balls than to be dead in some scumbags back yard. People don't understand it's the OWNER and how the dog is raised that gives pitbulls and other "aggressive" dogs the bag name (except chows. Those dogs are cunts from birth. **** em all lol).

i went out and bought so much stuff for him, i even brought him toys at the pound! but yes i bought a book on how to train puppies, not that i need it seeing how me and my girlfriend just trained her german shepherd puppy. I plan to crate train him, im really hoping this isnt a problem for him. I am ready for the random fears and being skittish i will understand. I will give him all of the love in the world. I have a few friends that rescued pitbulls and are trying to start a pitbull shelter (like a half way home deal for pitbulls)

yeah he would just end up being put to sleep, because here in cali dogs can only stay in a kennel for up to 7 days then they are put to sleep. After a day of processing that dog has 6 days to get sold, also not to mention that the pound is only open tuesday-saturday. i hate california. I also would love to kick who ever did this to these puppuies square in the teeth. Yeah chows have terrible personalitys.

I'm picking him up sometime after 4 thats when they are gonna release him. I'll definitely take some pictures of him for everyone, hes gonna be a little loopy from the meds so i doubt he will be moving around much.
